Facial Hair Growth Products

Dennis, a fourteen year old school going boy, was just back from watching the latest movie in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series. The ‘Jack Sparrow’ fever had got to him too, and how! All that Dennis did for the rest of the day was rant on and on about the latest escapades of Johnny Depp’s legendary character. He even went to bed that night with an imaginary Jack Sparrow hat perched on top of his head. Next morning, he woke up and studied himself in the mirror. Within a flash, he’d decided that the next ‘POTC’ goal on his to-do list was to grow a Jack Sparrow type beard. The fourteen year old spent as many days, trying out different ways and methods of growing facial hair, but all in vain.

Is your story similar too? Are you also a young man who is looking at ways of growing, or speeding up the process of growth of facial hair? Has someone suggested that you try using facial hair growth products? Do you know what they are? Are you in doubt about the surety or the efficacy of cosmetics for facial hair growth? Well, in that case, read ahead through the rest of this article. Chances are, most of your questions will get answered and your doubts, cleared.

Facial Hair Growth Products for Men
So how effective are these so called ‘facial hair growth products’? Do they really speed up the process of facial hair growth? Or is it all just a marketing gimmick? Well, from what I’ve read and heard, here is the truth.

Growth of facial hair almost entirely depends on the following factors
Genetics
Testosterone levels
Overall health (to a certain extent)
When and how much your facial hair will grow, depends a lot on your genes and the genetic characteristics and features that you have inherited from your parents. You can’t do much to change that aspect of your body. Growth of facial hair is a sign of outward i.e. physical maturity, and the body’s testosterone levels are closely associated with this factor. Sometimes, low testosterone levels can result in the lack (or the slow growth) of facial hair. Not to be left out, your overall body health also plays a role in the growth of facial hair. Providing your body with all the necessary nutrients through a balanced diet, getting enough exercise, as well as enough sleep also contribute towards healthy hair and hair growth.

As far as so-called facial hair growth ‘products’ are concerned, I would have to say that there are no known products which guarantee to stimulate facial hair growth, or speed up the process. Facial hair growth is different from hair growth on the head, and cosmetic hair growth products are known to be effective only in the case of the latter. Growth of facial hair is a natural process and one that takes its own sweet time. However, if you’re hellbent on trying to speed up the process of growing a beard, you can try the following:
Try taking small doses of Biotin (a water-soluble B vitamin). It is said to boost the process of hair growth (in case of hair on the head). Who knows, maybe it could produce the desired results in case of facial hair too. However, it is recommended that you consult a doctor before taking any such nutritional supplements.
Try massaging your jaw, chin, etc. with a little bit of eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus oil is said to be good for hair growth and it may just speed up the process of growing a beard. Read more on how to grow a beard fast.
Try shaving. Shaving, more often then not, results in the hair growing back faster and thicker. It may well help you in speeding up the process of growing a beard and getting your desired beard style. Read more on shaving tips for men.
This was an overview of facial hair growth products and their efficacy in speeding up the growth of facial hair. My advice to you is, do not run after any so-called wonder product. Let your beard grow on its own, and let it take its own sweet time to do so.
